Missionary Moment 17: I Say A Little Prayer

Hello again! This week was amazing! It all started earlier this week. As missionaries, we like to meet with people and discuss faith and how to strengthen our relationship with God. We call these “lessons”. One day, we were planning and we did not have any lessons scheduled for the day. Before we left the appartment, I had the thought: “What if we pray to teach a lesson?”. So my companion and I said a prayer and asked God that we would be able to have a lesson with one of the people we had met with before. We then called a bunch of them, and none could meet that day. So we just went to try and find more people to teach and thought that God would just answer our prayer another day. That evening, we were in a part of Prague we had never been before, when all of the sudden someone walked up to us. It was one of our friends that we hadn’t been able to contact for weeks! And he said that he had time right then if we wanted to teach him! So we had our lesson. That was the first answered prayer.
Later this week, my companion and I were working as usual when we got a text and our friend canceled their meeting for the day. We were disapointed. We were at the church building and decided to say a prayer before we left. This time, my companion said it, and he asked that we would be able to teach another person today. So then we walked out the doors, and right in front of our building at the crosswalk was a man. We started talking to him and invited him into the building where we could talk more and had heat. We then went in and taught him about Christ and God. That was the second answered prayer!
Then, yesterday, I was in Plzen with another missionary and we were trying to contact people on the street. No one was interested. So we stopped and said a prayer. After the prayer, we found three people who wanted to meet and learn more! Then, last night, we recieved a text from one that said “I have heard good things about your church and would like to join. What would I need to do to do that?”. That was the third answer to a prayer this week!
Through this week, I had studied about prayer in the scriptures. I wanted to have a better understanding of it. And I came across a verse that really explained why we recieved these answers. It is in the Book of Mormon, 3rd Nephi chapter 18 verse 20, which reads:

And whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, which is right, believing that ye shall receive, behold it shall be given unto you.

In this scripture, Christ is speaking to us. And I thought it was amazing. God hears every prayer. God loves us and wants to help us, and whenever we pray and ask for something which is right, we are promised that we will recieve help with it. Isn’t it amazing how much God cares about each and every one of us?
See you next week!
