Missionary Moment 4: The Priesthood

Hello!I can’t believe it has already been 4 weeks! Time is just flying!
This week was very special, I had my birthday on Saturday and was assigned to be the zone leader on the same day! My schedule just keeps getting more and more full, but I love it! There is nothing like being able to dedicate your time to God’s work in blessing others lives. Speaking of which, this week one of my companions got sick. He had a fever, chills, cough, and aches. He was not doing good to put it lightly. He then asked my companion and I to give him a blessing for the healing of the sick. In our faith, we believe that we can have God’s authority to act in His name to bless others. We call this the priesthood. Because I hold this authority, I was able to give my companion a blessing that he would heal quickly and to be able to get back to work soon. As I gave this blessing, I could undeniably feel the Holy Spirit testify to me of the power in what I was doing. It was a very special experience for me. My companion has made a complete recovery and is now back to being his happy old self. I know that the Priesthood truly is God’s authority here on earth today. I know that as I continue to be worthy, God will continue to allow me to bless the lives of others. I know that God truly is always watching out for us and will always help us when we turn to Him.
